NWU whips javelin cream

The scene where the Mooi River winds around the Fanie du Toit sports fields is a well known one. Just below the High Performance Institute there is a stretch of about 100 m that serves as a hazardous no-fly zone to our feathered friends. Javelins fly here.

CHHP Institute of Sport Science and Development still performs despite lockdown

The North West Academy of Sport (NWAS) has been using the Institute of Sport Science and Development at the Centre of Health and Human Performance (CHHP) as a consultant for over two decades.  The services provided include assessments, exercise programmes, workshops and various other specialist services.

Congratulations, Olympic Elroy!

The North-West University (NWU) is proud to congratulate Elroy Gelant, a staff member in People and Culture, on making the South African squad that will compete at the Olympic Games from 23 July to 8 August in Tokyo, Japan. He will compete in the marathon event which will be staged on 7 August.

Annemie Bester

It is a weekday. The morning dew is melting and Johannesburg is still half asleep.  The relative calm is peaceful before the storm of the day hits. However, no calm for Annemie Bester. Where she turns into Emirates Airline Park – still called Ellis Park by the fans – she does not want to be anywhere else.
