Celebrating Arbor Week with tree planting ceremonies

In celebration of Arbor Week, held annually from 1 to 7 September, the North-West University (NWU) community planted 20 trees on each of the NWU campuses.

These tree planting ceremonies were also part of the university's 20-year anniversary celebrations, symbolising the enduring legacy of the NWU over the past two decades.

Cutting-edge language application to boost effective communication between healthcare providers and patients

The Faculty of Health Science at the North-West University (NWU) officially launched the Sinapi Language Application during the university’s annual Language Awareness Week on the Potchefstroom Campus on 29 August.

In a collaborative effort, through a service agreement between the NWU and Ambani Africa, this revolutionary language application aims to address the linguistic gap between faculty students and patients during their compulsory work-based learning.

Golden Key Chapter welcomes new member

The event, held at the Tsebonokeng Hall, was a celebration of academic excellence and served as a platform to recognise and welcome new members into the Golden Key family.

Forging a partnership to boost community development and employment

In a powerful demonstration of collaboration, the North-West University (NWU), through its Bhive Enterprise Development Centre (bhive EDC), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Vaal United Business Forum (VUBF), a non-profit company.

NWU thrashes UFS 4-0 to secure home Varsity Football final

The North-West University (NWU) delivered a commanding performance in the semi-final clash against the University of the Free State (UFS), defeating them 4-0 at the NWU Mahikeng Stadium to cement their place in the Varsity Football final.

The result was a reversal of fortune after UFS had beaten the NWU in the group stages. This time, the home side dominated from the onset, leaving UFS with little chance of repeating their previous success.

Alumnus honoured with top industrial engineering award for his work in agriculture

North-West University (NWU) alumnus Chris van Dyk recently received the Southern African Institute for Industrial Engineering’s (SAIIE’s) Best Industrial Engineering Practitioner - Employer's Choice Award.

This award highlights his contributions to the field of agriculture and the respect he has earned from peers and employers as business analyst at Taaibosch Piggery.

Prof Bismark makes his expert voice heard during Nuclear Energy Summit

The Ministry of Electricity and Energy hosted its Nuclear Energy Summit on 12 September at River Meadow Manor in Irene, Pretoria, and the Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the North-West University (NWU), Prof Bismark Tyobeka, made his expert voice heard.

The theme of the summit was “Enhancing Nuclear Technology for Sustainable Development in South Africa”.

Congratulations, Mr and Miss NWU Vanderbijlpark Campus 2024

The grand finale of the Mr and Miss North-West University (NWU) Vanderbijlpark Campus pageant at the Tsebonokeng Hall highlighted the personalities and strengths of the contestants, culminating in the much-anticipated announcement of the winners.

Students and parents came in large numbers to support their friends and family members competing in the pageant.
