The North-West University’s (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus Arts Unit recently hosted a Men Evolve Conference.
Men Evolve is a platform aimed at fostering an environment where men can express vulnerability, develop skills to become exemplary members of society, and commit to gender diversity. Furthermore, it serves as a tool to cultivate well-rounded graduates and ambassadors of the NWU’s values, who embody good citizenship.
North-West University (NWU) alumnus Marelie Botha was recently honoured as the Emerging Psychologist of the Year at the Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology of South Africa (SIOPSA) Presidential Merit Awards held at the Wanderers Club, Johannesburg.
SIOPSA is a member-based, non-profit organisation established to enhance the industrial and organisational psychology profession in South Africa. These awards are held annually in recognition and celebration of excellence in industrial and organisational psychology.

Student Life at the North-West University's (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus organised a community clean-up project on Nelson Mandela Day on 18 July.
Students and Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) employees joined hands to clean up areas along Hendrick van Eck Boulevard and Frikkie Meyer Street in Vanderbijlpark.
The Employee Wellness unit at the North-West University's (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus will be hosting an interactive Men’s Health and Wellbeing Awareness session on 25 July at 09:00 on the Vanderbijlpark Campus. The session will be interactive, allowing both online and in-person attendees to engage with the facilitators.
Event organiser and employee wellness specialist Genevieve Poodhun says they decided to host this session as statistics and input from internal and external stakeholders indicate that men underutilise available health and wellness services.
