The grand finale of the Mr and Miss North-West University (NWU) Vanderbijlpark Campus pageant at the Tsebonokeng Hall highlighted the personalities and strengths of the contestants, culminating in the much-anticipated announcement of the winners.
Students and parents came in large numbers to support their friends and family members competing in the pageant.

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus recently suffered and mourned the loss of seven of its cherished students.
The first tragedy struck when Sinethemba Tshabale, Kananelo Mokhele, Katlego Ramodibe, Olwethu Khojane, Simphiwe Nzimande and Tshepo Maboea tragically lost their lives in a motor vehicle accident in the early hours of Sunday, 18 August 2024.
Ujeet Maharaj, prosecutor and head of Student Discipline at the North-West University’s (NWU’s), has been invited to attend a leadership event for local leaders in Sebokeng to enhance collaboration between the Ubuntu Clinic at Westside Park and other stakeholders in the community.
The North-West University (NWU), along with other important organisations, recently convened for a Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Workshop as part of the Ubuntu Community Initiative.
The workshop, held at the Sebokeng Clinic, was facilitated by Stan Hendricks, a well-known coach and mentor.
The workshop was organised with a multi-sector approach and revolved around the theme "We are the solution". The aim was to address the prevalence of GBV and equip participants with the knowledge and tools required to combat this societal scourge.
The North-West University's (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus hosted BMI Day, an annual event organised by the Centre for Business Mathematics and Informatics (CBMI) on 14 August 2024.
Since its inception in 2022, BMI Day has grown into a tradition, bringing together current students and accomplished alumni, and – for the first time this year – high-achieving Grade 11 and 12 learners from nearby schools.
The North-West University's (NWU’s) Optentia research unit is gearing up to host the upcoming Diverse Qualitative Research Perspectives Festival from 3 to 6 September at The Roots in Potchefstroom.
According to Optentia's project manager Anjonet Jordaan, this festival aims to provide a dynamic and inclusive platform that encourages the exchange of innovative methodologies and transformative practices in qualitative research.
The North-West University (NWU), in collaboration with other stakeholders, recently signed up for the End GBVF 100-Day Challenges an initiative of the GBVF Collective, which aims to address gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) by involving various organisations and stakeholders in a structured and actionable approach.
Dr Sabelile Tenza, a distinguished Senior lecturer and researcher from the School of Nursing Science and NUMIQ Research Entity at the North-West University, took the stage as an invited speaker at the prestigious Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Leadership Forum that took place from 18 to 19 July in Nairobi, Kenya.
