Thousands get vaccinated at NWU outreach sites

The Covid-19 vaccination drive in South Africa received a boost with thousands of members of the public, including North-West University (NWU) staff members, their spouses and life-partners, getting their vaccinations during the past weekend (16 to 18 July).

Similar drives are expected in the near future and as soon as details regarding these are available, it will be communicated.

Artist’s impressions of Covid-19 and global warming win two international prizes

The true value of art far exceeds its monetary worth. Its beauty may astonish us and its meaning touches hearts, thoughts and souls for generations after it has been created. An NWU alumnus’s artworks have masterfully captured his “film-strip” impressions of lockdown, the Covid-19 pandemic and global warming, and earned him first prizes in two prestigious international competitions.

It is a weekday. The morning dew is melting and Johannesburg is still half asleep.  The relative calm is peaceful before the storm of the day hits. However, no calm for Annemie Bester. Where she turns into Emirates Airline Park – still called Ellis Park by the fans – she does not want to be anywhere else.

NWU to host world-renowned motivational speaker, Robin Banks

The Covid-19 pandemic has radically unsettled and disrupted the systems we depend on.  The unexpected chaos has ruined numerous businesses and lives, but there are also positive signs for the future.

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) TRADE research focus area and the School of Economic Sciences will be hosting a webinar – titled “Success is a choice” – by the world-renowned motivational speaker, thought leader and author, Robin Banks. 

In the eye-opening and vital talk, Robin will discuss various ways to manage and stay positive in the age of Covid-19.
