One North-West University (NWU) student and two alumni will represent the university when netball stars from South Africa and Malawi battle it out in a three-match series in Rustenburg from 26 to 30 November 2020.
Former (NWU coach and current Protea head coach, Dorette Badenhorst, recently named the provisional squad of 30 players for the SPAR Challenge Series.
Current student Elmeré van den Berg, who is studying towards a sports coaching and human movement science qualification, and alumni Sigi Burger and Monique Reyneke have made the team and will be flying the NWU flag high.
Due to the current lockdown regulations and restrictions, the 2020 SPAR Challenge Series will be played in a bubble environment and no spectators will be allowed.
The 30-woman squad will have a three-day training camp from 22 November at Sun City. The team will be reduced to 15 players at a later stage.
