North-West University (NWU) alumna Didintle Keebine literally eats, sleeps and breathes netball and her dedication to the sport has paid off.
After participating in the recent Telkom Netball League, she was announced as one of the superstars of the tournament.
Didintle, who started playing netball at the age of six, says she was very hyperactive as a child and was always ready to participate in most extra-mural activities.
Growing up this was all just fun and games, and she never realised the extent of her potential and talent.
“It is by God’s grace that I have achieved so much - He aligned me with the right people,” says the BA psychology and sociology graduate.
“I’ve had opportunities to work with incredible coaches, and they have definitely played a role in helping me become the player that I am today,” she adds.
In the next five years she sees herself playing for the Proteas and representing South Africa on the world stage. She also wants to open her own netball academy and is working towards being one of the best coaches in the country.
Didintle has been coaching various teams in the North West province since 2016, her most recent stint being the assistant coach for the North West Mini-Netball.
Next year she plans to enrol for a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the NWU.
