The first closing date for applications for the Missing Middle Fee Adjustment Grant is on 28 February 2017, leaving students with just more than a month to go.

For third year education student, Nico “Spekkies” van Tonder, the year 2017 could not have started any better. Nico, who plays for the NWU Vaal Rugby Club, will be joining the North-West University’s Varsity Cup squad for the 2017 rendition of this very competitive and prestigious competition.  

In a week’s time the North-West University’s Vanderbijlpark Campus (NWU Vaal) will be welcoming the new intake of first year students for the 2017 academic year. 

If the name Lukas van der Schyff sounds familiar, it might just be that your paths crossed at the Vanderbijlpark Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal) – first as a student, then as an alumnus and now as the newly elected Chairperson of the NWU Vaal Rugby Club.

“Our first year students matter and therefore we do not want you to simply survive your first year at university; we want you to have a great experience!” This is according to Ms Prem Coopoo, the Dean of Student Affairs on the Vanderbijlpark Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal).

With the 2017 academic year just around the corner the North-West University (NWU) is a buzz with activity as the new intake of first year students as well as senior students prepare to register.
