Thanks to the North-West University (NWU’s) Career Centre students and alumni are able to reach their full potential through provision of academic developments, CV training, preparation for the world of work, interview preparations and financial intelligence.

Students associate the NWU with excellence

According to a 2022 report presented by Universum, the North-West University’s (NWU’s) students associate the university with academic excellence and safety.

Universum is a global data-driven, insight-led employer branding agency that focuses on brand perception based on students’ experience. The agency surveys students and alumni from numerous higher education institutions every year.

NWU People and Culture donate food parcels to the Tshwaraganang Day Care Centre

It was an extremely emotional day as the People and Culture Office of the North-West University (NWU) donated food parcels to the Tshwaraganang Day Care Centre for children living with disabilities. This is a community-based centre that is situated in Ikageng and it was established as an initiative to take care of children living with disabilities.

NWU Mahikeng Campus celebrates administrative professionals

Business Enterprise and Development and residences on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Mahikeng Campus recently celebrated Administrative Professionals' Day at the campus’ new residence, Cluster 10.

“We want to make secretaries and administrative professionals feel valued as they provide invaluable input and are an important part of the university,” says Freedom Gwele, residence manager.

The administrative professionals were treated to a beautiful event and scrumptious meal.

NWU’s Vanderbijlpark Campus honours administrative professionals

The North-West University's (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus recently celebrated Administrative Professionals' Day 2022 in recognition of the important contribution that administrative professionals make each year in the workplace.

The event held at the Small Lapa saw secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists, and other administrative support professionals from the different faculties, departments and divisions being treated to a full breakfast.

NWU welcomes new SRC members

The North-West University (NWU) welcomes its newly elected Student Representative Council (SRC) that officially took office on 6 September.

The incumbent SRC will serve for a period of one year under the leadership of the SRC president, Yikumba Andreas, a graduate in Management Sciences and Marketing Management, and a current bachelor’s degree student in Economic Sciences with Economics and Risk Management.

Varsity Football: a good platform for nurturing talent

Varsity Football continues to play a prominent role in nurturing talent for role players involved with the game – from players, technical staff, masters of ceremonies, photographers, and sports writers – to name but a few.

Dimpho Khumalo, master of ceremonies (MC) for the North-West University (NWU) during the 2022 Varsity Football tournament, believes her role as MC in this tournament is a steppingstone to greatness.

NWU’s Leihandra Naidoo is driven by a passion for life

Folklore tells the tale of a mythical bird of Greek origin. A big, feathered creature with talons and wings, its plumage radiant and beautiful, burst into flame, consumed in its own fiery inferno only to soon after rise from its ashes in a transformation from death to life.

To many, this is simply a tale told to while away time, but for North-West University (NWU) residence officer at the Mahikeng Campus Leihandra Naidoo, this is a symbol of living life to the fullest.
