Dr Janine Chantson receives prestigious award

Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm and hard work and this the case for Dr Janine Chantson.

Dr Chantson, chief director of the Technology Transfer and Innovation Support office at the North-West University (NWU), was recently awarded for her Distinguished Contribution to the Innovation Management Profession at the 2022 Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association (SARIMA) Conference.

Described as an incredible and visionary leader who always supports her team while giving them an opportunity to perform, she is actively involved in finding ways and practices to bridge the gap between research, innovation, and commercialisation.

Dr Chantson says she is truly honored and proud to have received this award and receiving recognition is a very rewarding feeling.

‘’The NWU is enormously proud of her accolades. Her pioneering and collaborative leadership is exemplary. Dr Chantson is and will always be our pride and joy in the research innovation domain,” says Prof Jeffrey Mphahlele, deputy vice-chancellor for research and innovation.
