Ashley Deon Pietersen

I am Ashley Deon Pietersen and a qualified Professional Accountant (Registered with SAIPA, qualified in 2017). I also did my Masters degree in Taxation and my study was in connection with sin taxed items. I did my articles at BR Rekenmeesters and throughout my three years of articles I have been exposed to a variety of tasks such as: Income Tax Returns of individuals, Companies and Trusts, Value Added Tax, Compiling of financial assets, Attorneys audits and monthly payrolls. 

 

Anina Marx

Anina Marx completed her BCOM Chartered Accounting Honours degree in 2011 at the North West University, Potchefstroom Campus. She did her SAICA articles from 2012-2014 at KPMG in Johannesburg. She passed both board exams during her articles. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant at the end of her articles. In February 2015 she was appointed as a Finance Manager in Cash Shared Services at Standard Bank in Johannesburg CBD.

Alinka Mostert

As a lecturer of fourth year accounting students I have extensive knowledge about international financial reporting. I am currently doing research on heritage assets in the public sector and my expertise extends to financial reporting by government. 

 

Wilma Viviers

Prof Wilma Viviers is a research professor in the TRADE (Trade and Development) research entity, an NRF-rated researcher and holder of the WTO (World Trade Organization) Chair at the North-West University (Potchefstroom Campus). Wilma holds a DCom (Economics) from North-West University (formerly Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education).

Derick Blaauw

Derick Blaauw professor in the School of Economics at the North-West University (Potchefstroom Campus). He previously lectured in the Department of Economics & Econometrics at the Rand Afrikaans University (RAU) and the University of Johannesburg (UJ) as well at the Soweto and Bloemfontein Campusses of Vista University.

Sanlie Middelberg

Sanlie Middelberg’s academic credentials include a PhD in Management Accountancy, and holds a professional qualification of Fellow Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (ACMA) with the global Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Sanlie’s research focuses on finance and management accounting mainly in the agricultural sector. This includes areas such as value chain financing, credit assessment, collateral and agricultural valuations.

Petrus van der Merwe

Peet van der Merwe was born in Kuruman, South Africa in 1973 and is currently living in Potchefstroom South Africa. He is a senior lecturer and researcher in tourism management at North-West University: Potchefstroom Campus, School for Business Management.  As researcher he also forms part of the NRF research unit TREES (Tourism Research in Economic, Environs and Society).

Riaan Rossouw

Riaan is a micro-economist with more than ten years consulting, research and teaching experience. He is currently associate professor in the School of Economics at the North-West University’s Potchefstroom Campus. He has wide-ranging knowledge in most economic sectors as well as economic development as a whole.
