NWU’s star will be chasing the sun

On Tuesday 22 August the Faculty of Engineering at the North-West University (NWU) launched Naledi, the 2017 version of the solar car that will be competing in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge starting in early October in Australia.The gruelling journey starts in Darwin and follows the Stuart Highway to Port Augusta and then Highway 1 to Adelaide about 3000 km away.

Misunderstanding is apartheid's lasting legacy

The lasting legacy of apartheid is that most South Africans have stayed in their cultural bubbles. "We have never made the real effort to learn about the people we share the country with," explains Prof Henri Bezuidenhout from the North-West University's (NWU’s) School of Economics and one of the country's foremost experts on cultural intelligence.

Lace-up for CANSA Relay for Life 2017

Since the inception of the CANSA Relay for Life movement in South Africa 12 years ago, scores of communities have mobilised in the fight against cancer. This year will see the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark play host, for the fifth consecutive year, to the regional rendition of the annual Relay for Life event.
