Christa Rautenbach

Prof. Christa Rautenbach brings over 45 years of legal experience to her role as a Full Professor at North-West University's Faculty of Law. She began her career as a prosecutor with the Department of Justice before transitioning to academia in 1994.

Klaus D. Beiter

Namibian-born Klaus D. Beiter holds B.Iur. LL.B. degrees (both obtained with distinction) from the University of South Africa, Pretoria, and a doctorate in international human rights law (obtained summa cum laude) from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany, where he wrote his thesis on the right to education in international law under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bruno Simma (formerly a Judge at the International Court of Justice). Since 1998, he is admitted as a Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Namibia.

Marita Carnelley

Marita Carnelley is a law professor, having taught Family law for two decades at three South African universities. Her current research focuses on maintenance and diversity issues. She is the co-editor of the Oxford University Press textbook on South African Family Law and has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in the area. 

 

Germarié Viljoen

Germarié Viljoen (LLB, LLM (cum laude), LLD) is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law, North-West University. During the period 2009-2012, she was appointed as temporary lecturer at the Faculty of Law, where after she consulted as legal specialist at Shangoni Management Services (Pretoria, Lynnwood) until 2014. In 2014, Germarié was permanently appointed as lecturer at the Faculty of Law.

Anri Botes

I have an LLM and LLD in Labour law and have published multiple articles on various key topics in the labour law field. I have also made contributions in labour law at many national and international conferences since employment. Apart from research activities I have lectured labour law to undergraduate and post graduate students for the past seven years.

 

Heléne Combrinck

Heléne Combrinck is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, North-West University, South Africa. She previously worked as a senior researcher at the Centre for Disability Law and Policy, University of the Western Cape, Cape Town, which was preceded by a number of years as the project coordinator of the Gender Project at the (then) Community Law Centre, also at the University of the Western Cape. Her publications focus on disability rights as well as gender equality (with an emphasis on gender-based violence).

Freddy Samuel Khunou

Prof. Khunou Samuelson Freddie is currently a senior law lecturer at the North-West University (Mahikeng campus). He holds B Juris (Unibo) LLB (UNW), LLM (UNW) and Diploma in Education (Moretele College of Education). Following his postgraduate studies in Potchefstroom campus of the North-West University, he was awarded a degree of Doctor of Laws in 2007. His doctoral thesis uniquely anchors on “A Legal History of Traditional Leadership in South Africa, Botswana and Lesotho.” Prof.

Howard Chitimira

Chitimira holds an LLB (cum laude) degree and LLM degree in Corporate Law from the University of Fort Hare. He also holds an LLD degree in Securities and Financial Markets Law from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. Prof Chitimira is a reviewer and editorial board member for several local and international law journals. He is also an external examiner for LLB modules; LLM and LLD programmes for several local and international universities.
