CP van der Vyver

CP van der Vyver is an associate Professor and director of the School of Professional Studies in Education in the faculty of Education at the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University. His qualifications include a BSc; Higher Education diploma (postgraduate); BEd (Honours degree); MEd, and PhD in Education management and leadership. His research falls within the field of Education Leadership and Management.

Shan Simmonds

Shan Simmonds, is a full professor and the Director for the Centre for Higher Education Professional Development (CHEPD). She is an NRF (National Research Foundation) rated researcher with expertise in curriculum studies, higher education, transformation and social justice. Shan’s intellectual work in Curriculum Studies is further enhanced through her involvement in international and national research networks.

Anja Visser

Dr Anja Visser is a Senior Lecturer and Subject Group Leader of Curriculum Studies in the Faculty of Education at the North-West University. Her expertise lies in Curriculum Studies, social justice issues related to education, human rights education, teacher education, and trafficking in persons as a curriculum concern.

Prof Maitumeleng Nthontho

Professor Maitumeleng Nthontho is a full Research Professor at the Edu-HRight Research Unit, North-West University, Potchefstroom campus. She holds a PhD in Education Management, Law, and Policy from the University of Pretoria. Over the past eight years, she has served as a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Associate Professor at the University of Pretoria.

Dr Fio Dolly Gaebeng Dlavane

I have dedicated my academic and professional career to advancing language education, literacy development, multilingualism, and African language scholarship in South Africa. I began my career at Potchefstroom Onderwys Kollege, where I lectured in Library and Information Science and coordinated activities of the then Teachers’ Centre. 

Muchativugwa Liberty Hove

Muchativugwa Liberty Hove is a Full Professor in Applied English Language Studies & Literature in English at North-West University and formerly a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, University of Limpopo. He is Director for the Research Incubation Hub and formerly Deputy Director in the School for Literature and Language Education.

Prof Kotie Kaiser

Kotie Kaiser is an associate professor and the Deputy Dean for Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Education at the North-West University in South Africa. Her work focuses teacher professional development and on the teaching and learning of English as a second language within the multilingual context of 21st century South Africa. 

Lloyd Conley

I am an Associate Professor and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Education (FEDU) at the North-West University. As executive Dean I am responsible for Leadership and Management across our three campuses namely Mahikeng, Van Der Bijl and Potchefstroom. In addition the FEDU is the second largest Faculty of Education in South Africa and we have a large contingent of Distance Learning (DL) students from across the country and also from SADEC countries. The Faculty is responsible for pre-service (Preset) and in-service (Inset)Teacher training .

Jacques Rothmann

Jacques Rothmann is an associate professor in Sociology at the North-West University, Potchefstroom campus. His key research interests include gender and sexuality studies, with a particular focus on masculinity and gay studies. He has published on a number of gender and sexuality foci including gay masculinity and sexual identity in higher education.

Jaco Hoffman

Jaco Hoffman (DPhil, Oxon) is Professor of Socio-Gerontology in the Optentia Research Unit, North-West University (Vanderbijlpark Campus), South Africa where he leads the Ageing and Generational Dynamics in Africa (AGenDA) programme. He is also Professorial Fellow at the Institute of Population Ageing, University of Oxford, UK where he co-ordinates the UN endorsed African Research Network on Ageing (AFRAN).
