NWU’s IT excellence ensures optimal speed

Internet speed at the North-West University (NWU) are among the fastest in South Africa. That’s according to the IT news website MyBroadband, which rated the NWU as the university with the second fastest internet in the country for October. As if that wasn’t enough, the university was also credited with having the fourth fastest internet among South African organisations of all types.

Demi-Leigh crowned Miss Universe

NWU alumna Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters has been crowned as the new Miss Universe. On Sunday night in Las Vegas the 22-year-old beauty and current Miss South Africa beat more than 90 participants from across the globe to be named the first South African to hold this prestigious title since Margaret Gardiner 39 years ago.

Bridging The Mathematical Gap 2018 – taking the sting out of mathematics

Four years since the inception of the Bridging The Mathematical Gap (BTMG) learning programme at the North-West University’s (NWU's) campus in Vanderbijlpark, many learners have not only overcome their anxiety for mathematics, but are also flourishing as students pursuing their university studies within the BCom and BSc fields.
