The national Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) recently appointed Prof David Mello from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences to serve as an adjudicator in the upcoming 5th annual National Batho Pele Excellence Awards (NBPEA).
These awards are hosted by the DPSA and will take place on 2 March 2018 in Gauteng.
The NBPEA is a national recognition programme celebrating excellence in public service. The theme “Batho pele – putting people first" aims to ignite excellence in the provision of public service. This is done through a vigorous process of reviewing performances in the previous financial year to limit entries being entered continuously year after year.
The adjudicators for this awards ceremony are chosen from both private and public sectors across the country, and individuals are for their on their experience and expertise across various fields of study.
Prof Mello is a professor and programme leader in the subject group Public Administration at the NWU’s campus in Mahikeng. He is a member of the South African Association of Public Administration and serves as a member of their board and Editorial Committee.
Prof Mello’s research focuses on the monitoring and evaluation of performance. He has published various articles, contributed chapters in books and presented papers at both local and international conferences.
Prof David Mello will be one of the adjudicators of the upcoming 5th annual National Batho Pele Excellence Awards.
