The second-year social work class of the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark recently took part in an oath taking ceremony.

The student community of the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark recently took to the voting stations and by doing so elected a new Student Campus Council (SCC) for 2017/2018.

“When you enter this courtroom, you are on my turf.” These are the words of Mr Johan van den Berg, addressing the second-year social work students at their annual mock trials where students got a taste of the harsh reality faced by social workers when having to testify in court. 

The learners of Kwakwatsi Secondary School in Koppies were recently treated to a visit from several representatives from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark. This friendly visit gave learners the opportunity to experience the caring spirit of the university first-hand. 

The North-West University (NWU) is and will continue to be, an active role-player in the different communities it serves. This is according to Prof Linda du Plessis, deputy vice-chancellor of the NWU’s campus in Vanderbijlpark, who recently had the honour of officiating the opening of the regional CANSA Relay for Life event.

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark and the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) recently celebrated a historic milestone by taking hands to host the fifth annual Vanderbijlpark region CANSA Relay for Life event.

There is more than one way to go green and do your bit to save the environment. In fact, what is old is now considered new and the business of upcycling – that is to reinvent waste by giving it a new purpose as opposed to merely recycling it – has become not only very lucrative, but has also given way to a global green creative movement.

The Golden Triangle Chamber of Commerce recently presented the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark with the Arcellor Freedom award for its positive contribution to the community. The campus was nominated by Arcellor Mittal who sponsored the award.
