Vanderbijlpark Campus launches Inter-Res tournament

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus has officially launched its much-anticipated Inter-Res tournament, a sports event designed to provide all students with a chance to showcase their athletic talents while fostering inclusivity and unity.

This exciting initiative, which runs from March to July, brings together students from various residences, providing them with a competitive yet fun environment to engage in sports, connect, and celebrate their unique cultures and talents.

International Symposium showcases a modern approach to academic discourse

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) School of Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management recently held a successful international symposium that brought together esteemed academics and industry professionals from around the globe.

Prof Marissa Brouwers, deputy director of the school, says the need for the symposium was motivated by the visit of three distinguished international academics, Prof Charissa Freese and Prof Irmgard Borghouts from Tilburg University in the Netherlands, and Prof Nick Prince from Wyoming University, USA.

Vanderbijlpark Campus walks for change in the fight against GBV

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus recently organised a powerful demonstration of unity and awareness called the Walk of Change, with various internal and external stakeholders participating.

“Part of my job as a house parent involves promoting student wellness. This initiative aims to inspire the university community by setting an example in the pursuit of a more equitable future, where human rights are respected and violence is not tolerated,” said Makhotso Mosikidi, NWU staff member and residence house parent who led the walk.

Alumni reunion strengthens ties

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) Alumni Relations section, in collaboration with the Faculty of Theology, recently hosted a vibrant Theology reunion at the Vanderbijlpark Campus’s Tsebonokeng Hall, providing an excellent opportunity for alumni to reconnect and learn about the latest developments at the university.

Zanele Ngobese, alumni relations practitioner and event organiser, says the aim of the reunion was to foster a sense of community among former students, while also encouraging them to play an active role in the university’s future.

The North-West University's (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus was recently alive with excitement and pride as the campus hosted a University Sports South Africa (USSA) homecoming event.

This occasion, dedicated to honouring the remarkable achievements of student athletes who showcased exceptional talent in the recent USSA tournament, was the brainchild of Tinyiko Mazwaya, Student Campus Council (SCC) Sports Officer for 2024/25.

Love, consent and informed choices

North-West University (NWU) students on the Vanderbijlpark Campus gathered at the Vergelegen and Jasmyn residences for an event that redefined the meaning of love. Annual master’s degree research retreat promotes collaborative learning

The School of Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management (IPS & HRM) at the North-West University (NWU) recently held its highly anticipated annual master’s degree research retreat at Stonehenge River Lodge in Parys.
