The Vanderbijlpark Campus Management Committee of the North-West University (NWU) recently hosted a meet and greet event to congratulate and wish the newly appointed Student Campus Council (SCC) members a productive tenure in office.
The event's goal was to acquaint the recently appointed SCC members with the NWU's policies, surroundings and upcoming programmes in the areas of protection services, library services, marketing and recruitment services. It also aimed to encourage the SCC members to make sure that their time in office and their academic pursuits are well balanced.
"We have come this far despite the fact that it was not an easy road with many lessons learned, but we are very confident because we are already building bridges and we will work with the SCC to use these lessons learned to move forward," said Prof Linda du Plessis, vice-principal and deputy vice-chancellor for planning and Vanderbijlpark Campus operations.
Silvanus Welcome, director for development and fundraising, Chris Williams, director for student life, and Prof Sibusiso Chalufu, executive director for student life, all indicated their support of and confidence in the SCC in their leadership journey.
Management and Student Campus Council members on the Vanderbijlpark Campus are ready to tackle the rest of the year.
