NWU School of Nursing and stakeholders join hands in the fight against gender-based violence

The School of Nursing at the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Mahikeng Campus is collaborating with various stakeholders to commemorate and support 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence (GBV).

16 Days of Activism Against GBV is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day.

The NWU’s main event will take place at 09:00 on 10 December 2021 at Magogwe Koikoi.

NWU’s Letago is a FameLab International runner-up

On Thursday, 25 November 2021, the world’s greatest science communication competition hosted its final showdown, where 10 young researchers and professionals battled it out for the title of world’s best science communicator in the FameLab International 2021 online final.

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) Letago Kgomoeswana represented the university and South Africa, and did her country and the NWU proud when she was announced as runner-up, along with Samantha Nixon from Australia. Alex Cloherty from the Netherlands was announced global champion.

NWU joins forces with Black Lawyers Association to deliver market-ready litigators 

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) Faculty of Law and the Black Lawyers Association Legal Education Centre (BLA-LEC) has committed to producing market-ready lawyers through a memorandum of agreement signed on 11 November 2021.

 The agreement, signed at the NWU’s Mahikeng Campus is for a period of three years.
