I am, a dedicated midwife specialist, lecturer, and researcher with a strong passion for perinatal support for women and midwives. My expertise lies in compassionate midwifery, respectful maternity care, and evidence-based practice, and I am committed to advancing woman-centered care in maternal health services.

Khumoetsile Daphney Shopo

Dr. Khumoetsile Shopo started her career as a Professional Nurse after obtaining the Bachelor of Nursing Science degree at Mahikeng Campus of the NWU in October 2004. She is registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) with General Nursing, Psychiatry, Community, Midwifery, Nursing Administration, Nursing Education, Moderator and Assessor. She further continued her postgraduate education and graduated in BCur (Ed et Admin) degree in 2012, Masters in Nursing degree in 2016 and PhD in Nursing Science which was awarded in 2021, all these qualifications were obtained at the NWU.

Welma Lubbe

Welma Lubbe is an associate professor at the North-West University, School of Nursing Science as part of the midwifery team and responsible for neonatal training. Prof Lubbe published over 38 peer-reviewed articles, presented 40 national and 19 international conference posters and papers and a number of professional and parenting articles. She is an invited television and radio guest, author and guest speaker at various public parenting forums, including well known parenting magazines, such as Baba en Kleuter and Your Pregnancy.
