Lecturing and assessing Financial Management and Management accounting for Charted Accountancy students.

  1. Pursuit, proposal and process management

Strategic sales role to help leadership convert opportunities at multinational clients into business. Research and best practice implementation of proposal processes and strategic sales methodology.

Herman van Dyk

Herman van Dyk is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa), Associate Chartered Accountant (England and Wales) and a Master Tax Practitioner (SA). He holds a Master of Commerce cum laude in South African and International Taxation (North-West University) and his dissertation entitled “Grounds for allowing a tax deduction for employee share incentives” received the award for best dissertation.

 

Marie Preston

Research in the field of Teaching and Learning:

My research career started in 2012 when I conducted research in collaboration with Mrs Veruschka Perlser-Carstens and Mr Andre Swart (both from the School of Accounting Sciences), on student performance in subjects such as Commercial Law, Auditing and Taxation. We presented a research paper at the 2012 Conference of the South African Accounting Association in this regard.

Nico van der Merwe

After graduating from the NWU with distinctions in all 31 semester modules as the top performer in the faculty, I qualified as a chartered accountant and achieved the fifth position nationwide in the IRBA Public Practice Exam (PPE) in 2005.

I was awarded the ABSA bronze medal for the best Masters' student in the social sciences at the NWU. I joined the NWU in 2007 and was named best lecturer in the university in 2008 and received an award for inspirational education from Rapport in 2010.
