International Museum Day: NWU Museum honours history with interactive exhibition

The North-West University (NWU) Museum celebrated International Museum Day on 18 May at the NWU’s Potchefstroom Campus.
The North-West University (NWU) Business School recently received its accreditation from the Association of African Business Schools (AABS). The NWU Business School was represented at the 2023 AABS Connect Conference, hosted by the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Accra, by the senior manager for Accreditation and Quality, Dr Lungile Ntsizwane.
The South African Board for People Practices (SABPP) recently honoured students who successfully registered as members of the board’s student chapter during a ceremony held at the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Potchefstroom Campus.
The SABPP is the professional quality and standards body for the human resources profession.
According to Debbie Mtshelwane, Human Resource Management programme leader in the School of Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management (IPS&HRM), the SABPP certification is highly regarded in the human resources industry.
The North-West University (NWU) appreciates the essential work of non-profit organisations (NPOs) and their impact on support provided to surrounding communities. The university extends an invitation to all its existing community partners as well as all other local NPOs ― including schools, faith-based and local government organisations – to register for the Community Stakeholder Forum meeting.

Third- and fourth-year students from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Faculty of Engineering attended the annual NAMPO Harvest Day that took place from 16 to 19 May 2023 at NAMPO Park in Bothaville.
The students were accompanied by Prof Rojanette Coetzee and her postgraduate students Hermé Nel and Jorinda Marais.
The main purpose of attending the event was to provide the students with a valuable platform for knowledge-sharing, networking and industry collaboration.

Dr Thapelo Chaacha, programme leader for the Human Resource Management programme, says the event aimed to give third-year and honours’ students an idea of what is expected of them in the world of work within the human resources field.

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) Faculty of Theology organised a special alumni reunion on 10 May 2023 at the Mahikeng Campus.
The purpose of this event was to foster connections among the faculty's alumni, current students and staff, and to encourage their involvement in the NWU Convocation.
During the gathering, Bongani Mahlangu, an executive committee member of the Convocation, addressed the attendees, highlighting the benefits of joining the convocation.
The inaugural meeting of those working in unified communications (integrators of various communication tools and services) and audiovisual disciplines was a resounding success.
More than 60 delegates from 19 universities and various vendors attended this special interest group* meeting on 13 and 14 April at the North-West University (NWU) Business School in Potchefstroom. The meeting presented a valuable opportunity for networking through shared experiences and insights.
The subject group History at the North-West University (NWU) recently hosted Prof Thula Simpson, associate professor of history at the University of Pretoria, as part of the group’s seminar series.
Prof Simpson is also a British scholar who holds a PhD from Birkbeck, University of London, and is the author of the acclaimed book, Umkhonto we Sizwe: The ANC's Armed Struggle.
During the seminar Prof Simpson presented a paper titled “Umkhonto we Sizwe and its Historians: Action, Reaction and Counteraction, c. 1963 to the Present”.
