For some people, volunteering and community service are an optional extra; something you do when you have time and additional resources at your disposal. This is not the case on the Vanderbijlpark Campus of the North-West University.

River FM 87.6, the campus radio station of the North-West University’s Vanderbijlpark Campus (NWU Vaal) is starting the year off on an exciting note by participating in a national human rights campaign.

The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Information Technology on the Vanderbijlpark Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal) is offering students an innovative opportunity to not only gain experience in conducting real-time market research, but also to learn more about the practice of entrepreneurship.

The new academic year is off to a good start with enthusiastic students registering on all three of the North-West University’s (NWU) campuses. As on 26 January nearly 7 000 first years have already enrolled. The NWU’s target for first-year enrolments for 2017 is 8 894.

First-year students at the Mahikeng Campus of the North-West University (NWU) were received with open arms as new ambassadors of the NWU family. 

The registration process for the 2017 academic year for undergraduate students at the Mahikeng Campus of the North-West University (NWU) started on 16 January 2017 and will run until 27 January 2017.

The sixth President of the United States, John Quincy Adams, was once quoted as saying that true leaders are people who inspire others through their actions: “Leaders are individuals who inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and ultimately become more.”

For third year education student, Nico “Spekkies” van Tonder, the year 2017 could not have started any better. Nico, who plays for the NWU Vaal Rugby Club, will be joining the North-West University’s Varsity Cup squad for the 2017 rendition of this very competitive and prestigious competition.  

In a week’s time the North-West University’s Vanderbijlpark Campus (NWU Vaal) will be welcoming the new intake of first year students for the 2017 academic year. 

“Our first year students matter and therefore we do not want you to simply survive your first year at university; we want you to have a great experience!” This is according to Ms Prem Coopoo, the Dean of Student Affairs on the Vanderbijlpark Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal).
