“R” you ready to take your research to the next level? Then the course that the Optentia Research Focus Area is hosting at the Vanderbijlpark Campus of the North-West University (NWU) on 15-17 March is just what you need!

The North-West University (NWU) has once again showed why it’s a scientific force to be reckoned with, when it walked away with a special achievement at the annual South African Science Forum.

“Whereas efficient learners are reflective, strategic and cognitively engaged, struggling learners have difficulties in self-regulating their learning.” This according to Prof Marco Hessels, extraordinary professor at the Optentia Research Focus Area on the Vanderbijlpark Campus of the North-West University (NWU).

The Optentia Research Focus Area on the Vanderbijlpark Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal) already has a full schedule planned for the first quarter of 2017.

Brinco Neethling, an Engineering student at the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University (NWU), won the  SAIEE National student competition for his design of an electronic cupcake piper. The South African Institute for Electronic Engineers (SAIEE) host this annual competition to give up and coming electronic engineers exposure and recognition.

Prof Chaundry M Khalique, from the International Institute for Symmetry Analysis and Mathematical Modelling on the Mahikeng Campus of the North-West University (NWU),  has recently been inducted as one of three 2016 fellows of the prestigious Royal Society of South Africa.
