Linking research to practice: Joining hands for inclusive education

The Optentia Research Focus Area on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark, the Faculty of Education Sciences on the NWU’s campus in Potchefstroom, and the Flemish Association for Development, Cooperation and Technical Assistance (VVOB) are hosting the Second Symposium on Teacher Education for Inclusion on 7 and 8 June 2017.

NWU Vaal Senior Basketball Tournament a display of sporting talent

Reach for the sky or don’t even try.  This well-known basketball saying rang true during the recent high-profile NWU Vaal Senior Basketball Tournament which took place at the Harry Gwala Sport Centre in Sasolburg. This year marks the third rendition of the tournament and saw Sasol and Anglo American coming on board as the main sponsors of the event.

Vincent Kheswa – there is room to grow outside the box

NWU boasts top SAICA results

Cheers rang out on the Friday afternoon of 31 March as the South Africa Institute for Chartered Accountants (SAICA) released the results of the Initial Test of Competence (ITC: qualifying exam part 1). “It gives me great pleasure to announce that, with a 94% pass rate for first-time candidates, the North-West University (NWU) achieved the first position in the country in terms of pass rate. No other university had a pass rate of 90% or above.”

Constitutional Commissioner to address NWU Social Sciences Conference

Bernedette Muthien, internationally known South African expert on issues of gender equity, nonviolence, and gender-based violence, will act as keynote speaker during the 8th International Conference on Social Sciences (ICSS) – a collaboration between the North-West University’s Vanderbijlpark Campus (NWU Vaal) and the Social Sciences Research Society in Turkey.
