Green Art Competition – taking recycling to the next level

There is more than one way to go green and do your bit to save the environment. In fact, what is old is now considered new and the business of upcycling – that is to reinvent waste by giving it a new purpose as opposed to merely recycling it – has become not only very lucrative, but has also given way to a global green creative movement.

NWU IKS Centre celebrates African Traditional Medicine Day

Several Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS) students from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng made their way to the village of Moshana located 60 km outside Zeerust on 31 August 2017. This is where the North West Dingaka Association (NWDA) had chosen to mark and celebrate African Traditional Medicine (ATM) Day.

NWU gird their loins for encounter with tournament log leaders

Following their much-needed recent win against the University of Johannesburg (UJ) (putting them in third position on the 2017 Varsity Football tournament log), the North-West University’s (NWU’s) varsity football team is preparing to take on the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) on 7 September 2017 in their quest to seal their place in the semi-final.

City of Gold inspires much-anticipated NWU victory

After slipping four places on the 2017 Varsity Football tournament due to their two consecutive lost games against the University of Western Cape and the Central University of Technology, the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Varsity Football team clinched their much-anticipated victory against the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in the sixth round of the tournament.
