The words ‘land expropriation’ are undoubtedly the buzzwords of the day and have sparked both national and international debate about its subsequent effect on the South African economy. Add to this the motion by the ruling party to pursue an amendment to the Constitution – that will allow land expropriation without compensation – and it becomes clear that the issue at hand is here to stay.

It’s smooth sailing for Jonker Sailplanes at world championships

Jonker Sailplanes is taking flight in the 35th World Gliding Championships. The first part of the championships took place in Ostrow, Poland from 7 to 22 July. Prof Attie Jonker, an academic from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Faculty of Engineering and the chief design engineer of the company, competed with their JS3 glider in the 15 m Class competition.
