Diverse Qualitative Research Perspectives Festival set to inspire and inform

The North-West University's (NWU’s) Optentia research unit is gearing up to host the upcoming Diverse Qualitative Research Perspectives Festival from 3 to 6 September at The Roots in Potchefstroom.

According to Optentia's project manager Anjonet Jordaan, this festival aims to provide a dynamic and inclusive platform that encourages the exchange of innovative methodologies and transformative practices in qualitative research.

International collaboration impacts local quality improvement and patient safety

Dr Sabelile Tenza, a distinguished Senior lecturer and researcher from the School of Nursing Science and NUMIQ Research Entity at the North-West University, took the stage as an invited speaker at the prestigious Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Leadership Forum that took place from 18 to 19 July in Nairobi, Kenya.

Vanderbijlpark Campus Debating Society performs at North West Open

The Debating Society on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus made a good impression at the North West Open 2024, hosted and organised by the Potchefstroom Campus’ Debating Union.

The three-day tournament took place from 9 to 11 August and showcased the exceptional talents of NWU students.

Featuring a British Parliamentary Debate format with five preliminary rounds leading to the final rounds, 35 speaking teams and 37 adjudicators participated in the competition.

The Vanderbijlpark debate team included six speakers and two judges.

Groundbreaking research leads to comprehensive and effective approach to forensic interviewing

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) Optentia research unit recently celebrated a significant milestone with delivering the first PhD graduate in social sciences with relational dynamics and development. The groundbreaking research of Dr Constant Laubscher van Graan focuses on relational dynamics in forensic investigations.

His study has significantly contributed to the field of commercial forensic investigations by shedding light on the complex dynamics that unfold during interactions between multiple stakeholders.

Goddess night celebrates sisterhood

The Goddess Night event hosted by the North-West University's (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus Arts Unit was truly a night to remember. The ladies went all out, and their stunning attire perfectly embodied the event's theme, "A Bridgerton Affair".

The event aimed to foster a spirit of sisterhood among the attendees, drawing inspiration from the popular series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

Vanderbijlpark Campus’ Arts Unit celebrates 20 years of greatness in style

The Arts unit at the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus recently hosted a 2024 Vaal July event, themed “Celebrating 20 Years of Greatness: Student Life Edition”.

This event aimed to honour two decades of excellence by bringing innovation and a commitment to sustainability to life through fashion and performances. Students were tasked to showcase their creativity by creating garments made from recyclable materials.
