Greig’s career is in the fast lane at Tesla

Working for Elon Musk’s Tesla Inc. is a dream come true for North-West University (NWU) alumnus Greig Swanepoel.

Greig works for electric vehicle and clean energy company Tesla in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, where he is an application engineer for residential energy products in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, Tesla's current products include electric cars, battery energy storage from home to grid scale, solar panels and solar roof tiles, as well as other related products and services.

NWU athletes shine at SAs

As usual, athletes from the North-West University (NWU) asserted themselves at the recent South African Senior Athletics Championships and the NWU’s trophy cupboard is once again bursting at the seams.

This competition took place in Pretoria from 15 to 17 April.

Unchanged interest rates are in line with expectations

“The decision by the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) to again leave interest rates unchanged was widely anticipated and in line with market expectations.”

Prof Raymond Parsons from the North-West University (NWU) Business School says that whereas, in the past few months, the MPC voted 3 to 2 in favour of “no change” ― as opposed to another 25 basis points cut ― the outcome of the MPC’s latest meeting was a unanimous decision.
