Campus joins continent in celebrating Africa Day
The North-West University’s (NWU) campus in Vanderbijlpark recently joined the rest of the African continent in celebrating the 54th annual Africa Day.
Pieter Smit, the top achiever of the North-West University’s (NWU’s) School for Business and Governance, shined bright during the recent MBA awards ceremony and received the ABSA gold medal as best MBA achiever.
Prof Abel Pienaar from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng presented his inaugural lecture on Reinforcing indigenous communal healing as a sustainable health science and practice in Africa on 25 May 2017.
Children in South Africa are still in trouble. This became evident during the launch of the Healthy Active Kids SA Report Card (HAKSA) in Johannesburg on Wednesday 24 May. The report card is spearheaded by Discovery Health and the Sport Science Institute of South Africa, with the NWU playing a major role in the drafting thereof.
The North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng hosted the annual symposium and Africa Day celebrations in partnership with the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) on 19 and 20 May 2017.
Prof Bernard Mbenga, a well-known historian and academic from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng, delivered a public lecture – The Bophuthatswana Government and the University of Bophuthatswana: The Quest for Legitimacy and International Recognition – at the recent Africa Day symposium and celebrations.
This year the North-West University’s (NWU’s) School of Business and Governance and CANSA took hands with Tina Scholtz Academy to inform women from the surrounding community about breast cancer.
