Alumni shine bright during annual Caxton Excellence Awards

Two alumni from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus, Wouter Pienaar and Ettienne van Rensburg, took centre stage during the 28th annual Caxton Excellence Awards which recently took place at the Silver Star Casino in Krugersdorp.

The Caxton group is one of the largest publishers and printers in South Africa and is a major participant in the South African print media industry.

New chairperson of the Council of the North-West University (NWU) announced

At the meeting of the NWU Council on 16 March 2017, Dr Mzubanzi Bismark Tyobeka was elected as the new chairperson who will steer the Council for the next three years. This follows the expiry of the previous chairperson, Adv Johan Kruger's term of office at the end of March 2017. He did not avail himself for re-election.

Collaboration paves way to Sharpeville 2020 Development Plan

Creating a better world requires teamwork, partnerships and collaboration, as we need an army of companies to work together to build a better world. International research collaboration to focus on female entrepreneurship

Economists, academics alike are in agreement: female entrepreneurs are an under-tapped force that can revive economic growth. Having said this, Natanya Meyer – a lecturer within the School of Economic Sciences on the Vanderbijlpark Campus of the North-West University (NWU), will join an international research team to collaborate on a research project titled: “Women for Women Entrepreneurship Development.”

NWU economics lecturer set to speak at world’s premier academic conference

Ms Hlompo Panelope Maruping, a lecturer from the Mahikeng Campus of the North-West University (NWU) has been invited by the academic selection committee of the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER) to be one of the speakers at the Annual International Conference on Business, Law and Economics.
