Constitutional Commissioner to address NWU Social Sciences Conference

Bernedette Muthien, internationally known South African expert on issues of gender equity, nonviolence, and gender-based violence, will act as keynote speaker during the 8th International Conference on Social Sciences (ICSS) – a collaboration between the North-West University’s Vanderbijlpark Campus (NWU Vaal) and the Social Sciences Research Society in Turkey.

Manufacturing sector not out of the woods yet – Dr Andre Mellet

The South African Economy showed negative growth in the final quarter of 2016. This negative growth can be contributed to the decline in two sectors, namely: mining and manufacturing. During an interview with RSG, well-known economist, Dr Andre Mellet from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Vanderbijlpark Campus, commented on the negative growth figures for the final quarter of 2016.

Awareness and knowledge the weapons against human trafficking

Trafficking in persons is a serious crime and a grave violation of human rights. Every year, thousands of men, women and children fall prey to traffickers, in their own countries and abroad. Unfortunately, human trafficking is also a reality in South Africa.

Victims of trafficking can be any age, gender, race or social standing and statistics indicate that  it is the fastest growing global industry – generating a staggering U$D 150 billion a year.
