Annual gala event celebrates CTA Class of 2018

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark recently rolled out the red carpet in celebration of the outstanding performance of its CTA accounting students. These students – who are all busy with the Certificate in Theory of Accounting curriculum (an honours programme) – are preparing for admission to the 2019 SAICA (South African Institute of Chartered Accountants) qualifying exam in January.

Mind Sports – a family of sports in which the objective is to test mental strength and prowess rather than physical strength – is proving to be a very popular sporting code on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark.

Entrepreneurial success for NWU alumnus Thabiso

Thabiso Kgabung (27) spent three years preparing for the world of work from the comfort of a lecture hall, hoping that when he earned his degree, a job offer in his chosen field of study would follow. The reality taught him that jobs in South Africa – for seasoned professionals and university graduates alike – aren’t as easy to land as you would expect.
