The Sol Plaatje residence at the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng recently unveiled its new name during an official ceremony hosted by the campus and students who serve on the residence councils.

In an effort to support matriculants of the class of 2017, the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng, in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) and the *Sci-Bono Discovery Centre, is presenting its annual winter school programme from1 to 11 July 2017.

North-West University (NWU) PhD student, Sidwell Sihlangu, has been awarded a prize worth R20 000 for the best-researched journal in scientific innovation at the Provincial Youth in Agriculture Awards for his master’s research on cultivating oyster mushrooms in the arid climate of Mahikeng.

Professor Ravinder Rena from the School of Business and Governance on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng recently delivered a keynote address at the first International Conference on Business and Finance Research Paradigm and Best Practices towards the 21^st Century, organised by STIE Pelita Bangsa University in Cikarang, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Research collaboration was on the agenda when leading scholars from Ghana, Nigeria and Zimbabwe visited the delivery site of the North-West University School of Business and Governance (NWU-SBG) in Mahikeng from 20 to 22 April 2017.

Professor Abel Pienaar, director of the School of Nursing on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng, recently identified and partnered up with Henrietta Stockdale College, a nursing education institution, to promote nursing education in and around the Northern Cape Province.
