NWU academic speaks at international conferences in China

Prof Masood Khalique from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng participated in the 12th International Conference on Recent Advances in Applied Dynamical Systems which was held from 8 to 10 June at Chongqing Normal University in China.

More than 600 delegates attended the conference that comprised more than 140 talks Topics covered during the conference included advances in all aspects of dynamical systems research, such as differential/difference equations, differentiable/topological dynamical systems, bifurcation theory, ergodic theory and applications to biology, engineering, fluid dynamics, neural networks and other nonlinear sciences.

Prof Khalique presented a paper entitled “A study of the (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear equations of wave propagation”.

Before the conference Prof Khalique attended the International Workshop on Integrable Systems and Applications at the China University of Mining and Technology, Xuzhou, Jiangsu, China where he presented a paper entitled “Cnoidal and snoidal waves solutions and conservation laws of a generalized (2+1)-dimensional KdV equation”.

Later he visited the Department of Mathematics at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University where he gave a presentation on “Symmetry analysis of differential equations” to staff and postgraduate students.

 Prof Masood Khalique.
