Postdoctoral fellow from Malaysia Joins Optentia

International postdoctoral fellows play an important role in spearheading postgraduate research activity at the North-West University (NWU). This type of internationalisation also supports the NWU’s drive to benefit society trough excellence in innovative learning and teaching and cutting edge research.

The Optentia research focus area recently welcomed Dr Jeniboy Kimpah as a postdoctoral research fellow. Dr Kimpah completed a PhD degree with the Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2018 and his thesis was a cross disciplinary study within Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, and Industrial Relations.

Dr Kimpah boasts experience in both the private and government sectors in Malaysia and served, amongst others, as an Administrator and Diplomatic Officer at the Malaysian Ministry of Education. Currently, he is a relief teacher at a rural school as well as an independent researcher who has had research experience in Human Resource Management and closely related fields such as Organizational Behaviour, Social Psychology, Industrial Psychology, and Industrial Relations.

According to Dr Kimpah he would like to strengthen his research competence within the South African context. As a researcher, he is curious and driven to engage in deep industry conversations concerning human capital trends such as leadership styles (participative decision-making), and empowerment (psychological and environmental) that can influence job performance.

Dr Jeniboy Kimpah.
