NWU Market Day – igniting the spark of entrepreneurship

The North-West University (NWU) is serious about entrepreneurship and as such boasts several entrepreneurial initiatives aimed at empowering staff, students and the broader community to become financially independent.

The latest initiative comes in the form of a Market Day that is to be hosted at the university’s campus in Vanderbijlpark.

The event is an initiative from the bhive Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) and aims to provide all members of the Vanderbijlpark community with an opportunity to promote their services and sell their goods.

According to the organisers the Market Day will see various pop-up stalls, vendors selling artisan products and delicious food stalls.

“Through this event we aim to not only promote a culture of entrepreneurship, but also to provide entrepreneurs with a network of peers and potential customers,” says Annelie Steenkamp from the bhive EDC. She adds that by enabling entrepreneurship the university is building forth on its commitment to positively impact the community it serves.

If you are interested in taking part in the event, which will take place on 3 April, you should register by sending an email to Annelie.steenkamp@nwu.ac.za or contact her on 016 910 3393.
