The 10th International Conference on Social Sciences (ICSS), which recently took place in Vanderbijlpark, is yet another sterling example of how the North-West University (NWU) collaborates with international partners in the pursuit of academic advancement.

The conference represents a dynamic collaboration between the NWU’s Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences and the Social Sciences Research Society in Turkey, and saw representatives from across the globe in attendance.

Over the three-day conference, more than 150 research papers and abstracts were presented.

According to Dr Natanya Meyer, conference administrator, the aim of the annual conference is to bring together a wide audience of academics, policy makers and professional practitioners around clearly defined topics to heighten debate, facilitate knowledge sharing and build networks for future collaborative ventures.

She adds that these like-minded individuals function within various interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary environments and as such represent critically thinking and globally connected experts.
