The top three academic performers who matriculated in 2021 in North West will be studying at the North-West University in 2022.
Francois Pieterse from Ferdinand Postma High School in Potchefstroom, Michelle le Roux from Potchefstroom Gymnasium and Marlé Siebert from Potchefstroom High School for Girls will all be calling the NWU’s campus in Potchefstroom home for the duration of their studies.
Pieterse, who had an average of 95,8% with eight distinctions, will be studying Computer and Electronical Engineering, while both Le Roux (average of 94,3% and nine distinctions) and Siebert (average of 92,7% and seven distinctions) will be studying Actuarial Sciences.
“It is a privilege to have the top three matriculants of 2021 at the North-West University, but the same goes for every one of the thousands of first-year students who enrolled at the NWU in 2022. It is a testament to the university’s standing, not only in the province, but in the country as well. Through our exceptional teaching and learning programmes, our world class research, vibrant student life and dedicated staff we can promise them a student experience like no other,” says Piet Steyn, Manager: Student Recruitment at the NWU.
