The Department of Development and Fundraising at the NWU recently hosted one of the loyal donors of the Ikateleng project in Potchefstroom. During the visit the group manager of Corporate Marketing and Communication at NWK in Lichtenburg, Johan Bezuidenhout, received feedback on the results of the learners and continued support for 2022 was discussed. According to Bezuidenhout, one of NWK’s values is a co-responsibility in the workplace and the community and to give back to those communities in which they operate.
“One of our focus areas is education and it just makes sense to partner with the Ikateleng project with its proven success and proud history,” he said.
As an alumnus of the NWU, Johan is a loyal supporter of the NWU Eagles rugby team and attended the first Varsity Cup match of the season against UCT at the Fanie du Toit sports fields. “This rugby match reminded me of the final against the Ikeys a few years back that we lost in the last few minutes,” he said after the game. “This was the first game of the 2022 season and there is still room for improvement. It was encouraging to have supporters at the game again and to see how the students enjoyed themselves.”
