Abdullahi Adejare

Dr. Adejare is a distinguished physiologist, researcher, and academic with over a decade of experience spanning teaching, biomedical research, data analytics, and community engagement. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, before completing both his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Physiology at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physiology, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Dr. Adejare also completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Lifestyle Diseases Research Entity, Faculty of Health Sciences, North-West University, South Africa. His research is driven by a commitment to understanding the mechanisms and risk factors underlying cardiovascular diseases, particularly hypertension, with emphasis on translational and population-based health solutions. With additional qualifications in research ethics and bioethics, including a Diploma in Research Ethics and a Master’s degree in Bioethics, he brings a multidisciplinary perspective to scientific inquiry. He is highly skilled in biostatistics and advanced data analysis, with extensive proficiency in STATA, R, SPSS, and GraphPad. Dr. Adejare has played leading roles in several competitive research grants. He currently serves as Principal Investigator on a University of Lagos CRC-funded project investigating the molecular mechanisms of cannabis-infused edibles on vascular function in Sprague Dawley rats. He also contributed significantly to major TETFUND National Research Fund projects focused on COVID-19 physiology and salt-sensitive hypertension, serving in key analytical and co-investigator capacities. In addition, he is a serving member of the North-West University Ethics Committee, reflecting his strong commitment to ethical and impactful scientific research. His collaborative approach, proven leadership in multidisciplinary research, and strong record in experimental physiology, cardiovascular science, and ethical research governance position him as a valuable partner for international collaborations, translational health initiatives, postgraduate mentorship, and evidence-driven interventions aimed at improving cardiovascular health outcomes across diverse populations globally.
