The students graduated from the MCom Applied Risk Management (MARM) programme and represent the fourth cohort of MARM alumni since the inception of the two-year part-time programme in 2014.
These graduates succeeded in the six modules that make up the first year of the programme, plus a mini-dissertation study in their second year. Each student’s final research project addressed an applied risk-culture-related research question, thereby contributing valuable learning experience and knowledge to the Optentia Enhancing Risk Culture research programme.
According to Prof Hermien Zaaiman, associate professor and manager for UARM, the high MARM average mark of 73% bears testament to the hard work of the students and team over the duration of the programme.
Three of the graduates obtained a distinction in the programme: Jaco van Wyk (top student for this cohort), Michael Jeffries and George Cavaleros.
