Alumni and friends to gather for annual business breakfast

The much anticipated annual North-West University (NWU) Alumni and Friends Business Breakfast will take place on 20 March 2020 in Vanderbijlpark.

This networking event sees members of the NWU’s alumni fraternity, academia, business owners and community members coming together to debate issues such as the State of the Nation Address (SONA), the Budget Speech, State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and the financial road ahead for Joe Soap. A panel of experts will also be at hand to address issues – both economically and politically, that impacts the country.

According to Zanele Ngobese, alumni coordinator on the campus in Vanderbijlpark, this year’s edition of the event sees a collaboration between several bodies within the university, namely: the TRADE research focus area, the bhive Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) and the Unit for Continuing Education (UCE).

She adds that through this event a platform is created from where constructive dialogue between academia and the public and private sectors can take place. “Our alumni fraternity furthermore represents a dynamic think tank of experience and innovation which allow us to put forward concrete solutions that can positively contribute to improving the socioeconomic conditions of our country,” says Zanele.
