“All aspects of society are effected by law therefore we encourage interdisciplinary cooperation,” explains one of the most popular lecturers at the North-West University (NWU), René Koraan. That is why the Faculty of Law, in conjunction with the Faculty of Education, launched the Creative Arts and Law project.

Over the years the North-West University (NWU) has made a name for itself as one of the top universities in the country. Now the NWU is part of a broader initiative, BRICSEd, to take quality education to countries across Africa and beyond.

Two academics from the North-West University (NWU), Prof Munyaradzi Manjoro and Prof Alfred Henrico, received commendations during the National Excellence in Teaching Awards 2017 during the HELTASA Conference held from 21 to 24 November at the Durban University of Technology.

The book Pathways to successful schooling – edited by Prof Elda de Waal, a professor in Education Law at the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Edu-HRight research entity – was recently launched at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg.  

The 21st century is a challenging time and it is important that both teachers and school learners become self-directed learners. The North-West University's (NWU's) research focus area for Self-directed Learning (SDL), under the directorship of Prof Elsa Mentz, focuses especially on indigenous knowledge for self-directed learning in the science and mathematics classroom.

International teachers’ day was recently celebrated in a festive manner at the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University (NWU). Learners from high schools in Potchefstroom entertained students, school learners and staff with singing, recitations and a dance item.

A total of 40 staff members of the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Potchefstroom Campus received recognition for their first publication of a research article.
