Resignation of the principal and vice-chancellor, Prof Dan Kgwadi
It is with mixed feelings that the NWU announces the resignation of Prof Dan Kgwadi who has accepted the position of vice-chancellor of the Vaal University of Technology. Although we join him in the celebration of his new endeavor, we are sad to lose him.
Prof Kgwadi has played a crucial role in the transformation journey and the success of the NWU. His contribution to the NWU will always be appreciated. During the NWU Council meeting in November 2019, Council reappointed Prof Kgwadi for a second term which would have come to an end in May 2024.
NWU in top 100 of Emerging Economies University Ranking for 2022

Ranking places NWU among top six local universities for second consecutive year
The THE World University Rankings have again, like in last year’s ranking, placed the North-West University (NWU) among the top six universities in South Africa. Globally, the NWU is ranked between 501 and 600 out of more than 1 600 universities across 99 countries and regions that were evaluated for the 2022 rankings.
NWU keeps business community up to date
