Prof Daryl Balia, executive dean of the NWU’s faculty of Theology, has been appointed as Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Assigned Functions and Campus Operations, Potchefstroom Campus.
NWU signs memorandum of understanding with Ndebele Kingship Council
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Ndebele Kingship Council and the North-West University (NWU) on Wednesday, 18 July 2018. An opportunity for cooperation between the Ndebele Kingship Council and the university was identified and the MOU captures the joint interest and establishes a long-term relationship.

Death of a student: North-West University (NWU)
The university community is saddened by the unfortunate drowning of one our of students yesterday afternoon at about 15:00 on the Potchefstroom Campus. The 34-year old first-year student was at the university pool together with a friend. The incident was not related to any formal student or university activities.
Consultation is key in revision of NWU’s language policy
The five-yearly revision of the North-West University's (NWU's) Language Policy and Plan (LPP) is taking place presently and includes an intensive consultation process with various structures and stakeholders. All policies of the NWU are in the process of being reviewed following the adoption of a new strategy, structure and statute.
