Dr Tian Theunissen is an AI researcher specializing in artificial neural networks (ANNs). His research interests span two broad areas: the fundamentals of ANN learning with noisy targets, and the principled modelling of time series data with ANNs for predictive performance and interpretability. He received his PhD in Computer and Electronic Engineering in 2021. He has been an NITheCS associate since 2025 and serves as PI for the "Knowledge Discovery in Complex Sequential Data" work package.

Chantelle Gray is a contemporary Continental philosopher whose interests span critical algorithm studies, queer theory, experimental music studies, cognitive studies, decolonisation, environmental studies, animal liberation, anarchism and Continental philosophy, especially the work of Deleuze and Guattari.
