A PhD student of the North-West University (NWU) and a master’s degree alumnus of the Centre for Business Mathematics and Information (BMI), has been accepted into the PhD Master’s Class on money management at Stanford University in America.

“The programming language R is the present and future of statistical programming.” Dr Emir Efendić, postdoctoral researcher from Eindhoven University in the Netherlands, will attempt to convince his audience of this statement during a workshop hosted by the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Optentia research focus area in Vanderbijlpark on 19 September 2018.

Prof Jako Olivier’s passion and research focus are multimodal learning and multilingualism, and this was also the topic of his recent inaugural address.

Excitement was the order of the day during the 2018 rendition of the Eureka School’s Special Sports Day. The event saw more than 400 participants – some from as far as Bloemfontein and Secunda – taking part in the annual event for mentally and physically challenged youngsters.
