When it comes to entrepreneurial training and development the North-West University (NWU) is blazing a trail within the South African higher education sector. This year, no less than 10 Enactus teams will represent the university at the intra-university round of the Universities Business Challenge (UBC) 2018.

The North-West University (NWU) Soccer Institute secured second place at this year’s University Sports South Africa (USSA) tournament that took place at the Nelson Mandela University (NMU) from 2 to 6 July 2018.

The second annual Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education (EDHE) Lekgotla recently took place in Cape Town. The three-day event saw two entrepreneurship experts from the North-West University (NWU), Natanya Meyer and Johann Landsberg, in attendance.

Several staff members of the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark recently received long-service awards for uninterrupted and loyal service to the university.

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) boxing team at the campus in Mahikeng was announced the overall winner during the University Sports South Africa (USSA) championship that took place from 2 to 4 July 2018 on that campus.

On 1 July 2018 Prof Dan Kgwadi, vice-chancellor of the North-West University (NWU), played host to more than 1 100 learners taking part in this year’s annual winter school programme at the campus in Mahikeng.  

“The ability to listen is essential for professionals and healthcare providers if they want to fully understand and support people living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families. By listening, professionals will be able to distribute the right information in specific situations to better the lives of individuals living on the ASD spectrum.”

It’s all systems go as the annual engineering week on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Potchefstroom has started. This event targets South African high school learners from Grade 10 to 12, and is running from 3 to 5 July 2018.

The bodybuilding team of the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Vanderbijlpark made their presence known at the recent University Sports South Africa (USSA) tournament in Secunda. For the second year running, the team from NWU Vanderbijlpark finished their USSA campaign with a national second place ranking.

The decision to start experimenting with alcohol and drugs is one that a young person should never even consider. This was the key message from Warren Brits, a recovered drug abuser from Danville near Mahikeng.
